Oil Painting+ is a membership platform for online oil painting workshop by Jason Lee Tako.
In a clear and concise manner, you'll learn practical color theory, composition, brush technique, paint application, angles and consequent values (the essential key to landscape painting), aerial perspective, and much more!
Once a month you'll get access to my pre-recorded workshop (monthly demo) where I take you through a painting from start to finish, explaining everything you need to know to create your own painting and master the fundamentals that you can apply to your own paintings.
You'll also be able to join our monthly Critique and Q/A Session where you can get feedback on any artwork you have done and ask any art-related questions you have.
Every session is recorded and you get immediate access to all past recordings according to the membership level you choose!
As a Gold Member, we will work together over a three-month time period developing a painting idea from the very beginning, including analyzing reference material, ideation sketches, color sketches, and into a final studio painting. The Saturday Live Sessions are typically from 11 AM - 1 PM EST. The Critique & Q/A Sessions are generally on a weekday at 7 PM EST.
Memberships are auto-renewed on a month-by-month basis. You can cancel anytime.
You can be of any skill level, though if you are an absolute beginner it is recommended you gain at least a few months of experience before you join.
The artistic principles taught will apply to any color medium, though the techniques and paintings are all done in oil.
The workshops focus mostly on landscapes, with a slight emphasis on the American West, though there are plenty of Eastern scenes and the occasional animal.
We meet via Zoom. I will send out a link every month to access the live sessions.
You will get a list of materials and colors for each month's painting. My palette and materials remain pretty consistent which allows you to more easily master the techniques and is a bit easier on the budget.
